The Mural: At a glance
In the center of the mural, a powerful force is evident, a force capable of holding together the world and everything in it. That force is depicted in the powerful hand of the Creator. The hand also represents the hand of man as he was described in Genesis: created in the image and likeness of God. It also represents the humanity of Jesus Christ – “Emmanuel” – God among us. Out of these elements that symbolically represent God made flesh and man redeemed through Christ’s sacrifice, seven lively curves are birthed with great dynamism and movement. These curves travel throughout the whole mural. Each curve represents the seven days of creation as they spring out of the hand of God. These seven elements also represent the seven churches of the book of Revelation, indicating the broad biblical spectrum of the mural – from Genesis to the last book of scriptures.
The sea and its agitated surge, reflecting the blue tonalities, very delicately and subtly interacting with the subject (the hand), represent the Holy Spirit hovering over the surface of the waters.
Lastly the stars and the expansion with an intensively candescent star that we know as the sun: here it shows us the vibrant intensity of fire and its flames, giving more of a dramatic hint towards the power of the only God and Creator, the only One present that glorious day of creation. The One who will be waiting for the return of those who recognize Jesus as the son of the Omnipresent, Omniscient and Omnipotent – God Himself.
